Antoine Loredo

**Antoine Loredo is co-founder of the company Kipli, which produces sustainable mattresses. His vision is to enable people to live healthier and in closer contact with nature. Antoine is 29 years old and lives in Paris. **

Kipli was founded about 2 years ago. How did you come up with the idea, what is the mission behind the company?

I have been dreaming about founding my own company for a long time. When I met Davide and he introduced me to his idea about Kipli, I saw it as a chance to make this dream come true. Furthermore, it was an opportunity to create a brand that perfectly matches my personal values. Davide and I founded Kipli in 2018 with the aim to manufacture affordable home goods in the highest quality possible – products, which are 100% sustainable, 100% healthy for our customers and produced under fair conditions.

Why mattresses?

Davide’s father Leonardo and his uncle Mario were pioneers in the production of mattresses. They had 20 years of experience with the production of latex mattresses. Based on the combination of their expertise and our vision, we created what is - in our eyes - the perfect Kipli mattress.

What makes the brand Kipli so special and particularly sustainable?

Our production is based in Turin and Milan. For our mattresses, we use euroLATEX and QUL- certified latex. These two certificates prove that we use 100 % natural latex that is free of any toxic or chemical substances. We obtain our latex from sustainable plantations in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The euroLATEX certificate guarantees that all workers in the production chain are working under European standards and get a fair wage. The cover of our mattresses is made in Italy, too. It is made of OEKO-TEX certified cotton and wool. A part of our profit goes straight to organisations, such as “1% for the planet”, to actively support the protection of our planet.

Apart from the sustainability factor, what else speaks for your company and purchasing your products?

We believe in transparency. On our website and in direct contact with customers, we explain all our certifications and used materials in detail. In addition, we decided to offer our mattresses at a fair price all throughout the year. We don’t have high profit margins but thrive to guarantee a fair wage for our employees and each individual in the supply chain. The ergonomics of our mattresses is designed to keep the spine in its natural position and to end back pain. We believe that reconnecting with nature and protecting it, lays the basis of a good and healthy life - for us as well as for future generations.

A few years from now: Where do you see Kipli in the future?

Our vision is to become the reference for natural and sustainable interior in Europe. We want people to live healthier and in closer contact with nature. At the same time, we want to protect our planet. That is why we create sustainable high-quality products that are made to last.  Our flagship product, the Kipli mattress, made us notice that there is a high demand. We want to respond to this demand in creating further interior products, which are based on the same philosophy.
